1. Register with the National Office.
Candidates must take two steps with the National Office: A) Join the National Ski Patrol, and B) Register as an OEC student. These two steps can be confusing, but the National office has created a how-to video, link here. (Yes, this is a hassle. Thanks legacy databases...).
2. Register for your local class, which in our case is OEC SouthBay. Costs & process below:
Costs (for the 2022 class):
The fees for the class are determined by fees required by the NSP National Office, the ESR Regional Office, and expenditures to hold the class & provide candidates with the necessary supplies.
NSP & OEC Fee - Fees Candidates pay to the National Office of NSP
Regional Fees $15 Equipment repair, maintenance, replacement
Medical Supplies $45 Cost of student supplies
Class Expenses $160 Reproduction, class supplies, consumables, final exam supplies
Total Fees $220
Students are also responsible to acquire the book (see instructions on "Course Materials" tab), and for the CPR course & fees if needed.
Registration Process:
We use Eventbrite to handle registrations. Link to register for our class here (2023 class, link active 7/9/2023): https://www.eventbrite.com/e/outdoor-emergency-care-south-bay-fall-2023-tickets-673999569857?aff=oddtdtcreator
I encourage all students who are interested to register as soon as possible. This will secure your spot in class and enable us to better prepare for the course.
